Zinedine Zidane’s return as Real Madrid coach could ruin things for Liverpool when the new season rolls in in the summer. According to reports milling out of the rumour factory, Zidane’s return could see the Merseysiders lose Senegalese star Sadio Mane in the summer.
The impressive frontman could join Los Blancos in the summer after revealing he’s hungry for silverware.
The 26-year-old joined from Saints Southampton in the summer of 2016. And so far he’s rack up a fine tally of 50 goals and 20 assists in 109 appearances for the club in all competitions.
Mane is one of the backbone of Reds strike force, and has shown he can deliver when called to step up to the plate. However, with Real Madrid seeking to make major changes in their team under returning manager Zinedine Zidane, it is assured they will attempt to lure the Senegalese out of the Premier League outfit. And if it meant coughing up twice the 30 million pounds fee paid for him in 2016, Los Blancos will not shy away from tabling the offer.
Mane is still contracted at Liverpool until 2023, and his importance to Jurgen Klopp side has underlined why it would be difficult to sell him off. Mane will still an integral part of Klopp’s attack when they head into the new season.
Meanwhile, Ajax centre back Matthijs de Ligt has revealed he would like to play with compatriot Virgil van Dijk if at all Reds come bidding for his services.
