Manchester United prime target Diego Godin has decided against moving to Old Trafford despite the contract offers on the table for him, per reports.
Jose Mourinho made the signing of a tough-tackling centre-back one of his priorities in the summer and United were heavily linked with the signing of Godin in the final days of the window.
TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that United offered the 32-year-old defender a £6.3m (€7m) contract but he knocked back the same deal to stay put with the Rojiblancos.
United still have a need for a centre-back, with various reports claiming they have revived interest in the Uruguayan star. However, the Red Devils have made a lower offer of £4.3m (€4.8m) per season for him on a two year deal.
The same report have now claimed that Godin has rebuffed the new offers from United and he has decided against a transfer.
Godin is in the final year of his contract with Atletico Madrid and they have offered him a one year extension deal.
He has established himself as one of the best defenders in the La Liga and the World.
