Man United have been linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Willian a number of times this season and as per the latest reports from the Express, Man United are prepared to offer him a lucrative £200,000 per week contract.
With the hope of making it to the Champions League next season still very much alive, Jose Mourinho is making frantic moves to bolster the squad and make them title contenders again.
That being said, Mourinho has identified his former player as one of the talents he wants to bring to Old Trafford and he is ready to tempt Chelsea with a £35 million bid for the Brazilian who can play anywhere in the attacking positions.
Mourinho signed the 28-year-old from Anzi Makhachakala during his second spell at Stamford Bridge. He was instrumental to Chelsea winning the league in 2014 and was voted their player of the year the following season but the arrival of Antonio Conte last summer has limited his chances and reduced him as a fringe player.
And the United boss is ready to take advantage of that to lure the attacker to Old Trafford with the promise of regular first team action. The Reds are also reportedly edging closer to the signing of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, thus swelling the number attacking options at Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Maroune Fellaini are all available and maybe around next season except Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney.
Ibrahimovic is out till next year January due to his knee injury while Rooney’s departure is imminent. Definitely some of the players would be offloaded in the summer but Fellaini and Martial look more likely to be axed to create space for the potential incoming of Willian.
Fellaini has not disappointed when giving the chance but could still be the sacrificial lamb while Martial has failed to impress Mourinho and has been linked with a loan move to Lyon.
