Man United rave of the moment Paul Pogba has revealed why he is thriving under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, per reports.
Pogba was branded a ‘virus’ by former Mourinho and he was stripped of the vice-captaincy. Under Solskjaer, the World Cup winner looks a different player, as he has brought on his A game.
He has scored four and provided four assists in his last five features for United. He has earned plaudits for his barnstorming form thus far.
Against Tottenham Hotspurs on Sunday, it was his inch-perfect pass that found Marcos Rashford, who set the English forward up brilliantly for the only goal of the game.
Just before his sack, Pogba was dropped from the squad of Mourinho. However, he is enjoying life under Solksjaer, who was his boss while playing for the U21 of United.
“It’s a pleasure to be reunited with him. I knew him from the academy and the reserves, when his nickname was supersub. He is doing a really good job,” Pogba said after the 1-0 win.
“As a player, he knew the mentality of this club. He has come back to help us and it is going very well. The season is long so let’s see how it goes.
“Before the coach arrived I was in the shadows, on the bench, and I accepted that. It is a pleasure to play again. That’s normal. Now I am always smiling.”
United are now level on points with Arsenal in fifth place on the log – if they keep up the form, they could end up in top four places.
