‘Why Man United are still missing Wayne Rooney’ – Paul Pogba’s revelation

The departure of Wayne Rooney from Manchester United stirred mix reaction and division among fans. Some felt the star has a lot to offer, while other claim he’s done but Jose Mourinho knows better than all the spectators and his decision has to be taken.

Rooney returned to his boyhood club Everton on a free transfer and the striker has been firing on all cylinders since his iconic return to Goodison Park – he’s made it two in two in the Premier League this term and more is expected of the star.

While he continue to earn plaudits for his exploits in club football, Rooney shocked the fans of the Three Lions of England when he announced his retirement from international football on Wednesday. He is not just the record goal scorer for Man United, he has similar accolade for England with 53 goals in 119 appearances.

Rooney now wants to focus on club football but Pogba made bare his mind regarding the impact the star will continue to have both on and off the pitch.

“You always miss a captain and a legend like him because he’s got experience and he’s won trophies.” Pogba said.

“He scored 200 goals in the Premier League. He’s a top player who can help the team and he’s a really top player. Young players can look up to him to improve.

“We wish we can see players like him all the time on the pitch because he’s respectful. He does what he loves. He’s a top guy and he will always be a legend.”

Rooney has moved on from Man United and his legendary shirt no was handed to self acclaim football god Zlatan Ibrahimovic. On taking over the reigns of Man United last summer, Jose Mourinho played Rooney mainly from the bench, preferring the likes of Mkhirtaryan, Herrera and Rashford ahead of him.

Man United currently occupy the top spot of the league table and it is not looking like Rooney is being missed.
