“Why i signed for Arsenal” – Alexandre Lacazette reveals

The Arsenal fan base were thrown into wild celebration as their transfer long-term target Alexandre Lacazette was unveiled as the Club’s record and and second summer signing.

Gaints Football news had reported that the Gunners long-term transfer target would put pen to paper on a five-year deal after French giants accepted a £52m offer from Arsenal.

He was subjected to the routine medical with the Club last Tuesday, which was kept discreet by the Club. He was unveiled to the public as a Gunner on Wednesday.

Lacazette has long been on the transfer radar of Arsenal. Although he had verbally agreed a deal to join Atletico Madrid but for the transfer ban slapped on them by FIFA.

It appears that Arsenal’s desire to have him as their player is mutual. Lacazette revealed that he has long been an admirer of Arsenal, stating that he hopes to follow the footsteps of Thierry Henry.

Speaking to the Arsenal player, the delighted striker confirms that his move is indeed a dream come true:

” am, of course. delighted and very proud too because Arsenal is a legendary club,” Lacazette, who admires the club’s “stability” under Arsene Wenger, told the Gunners’ official website.

“Throughout my childhood, thanks to Thierry Henry and other French players, I always dreamed of playing for this club so that dream has been fulfilled.

“[I like] Arsenal’s past – I like clubs with a history. Also the fact that the manager has been here for a while shows it is a stable club, which I like.

“In addition, there are quite a few French players here, which makes it easier to settle in.

“In my opinion, Arsenal is also the club that plays the best football in England so I really wanted to play here.”

The 26-year- old has arrived despite Arsenal not qualifying for the Europa Champions League for next season. Despite claims to the contrary, his arrival is set to convince the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to pen new contracts at Arsenal.

The prolific striker is sure to deliver the goals for Arsenal and if he manages to match his scoring record at Lyon it then means the Gunners will be lifting the EPL trophy after over one decade.

Here’s wishing Lacazette a wonderful stay at Arsenal.
