Arsenal have signed one of the best strikers in the football world, according to Chelsea defender David Liuz, who described Alexandre Lacazette move to the Emirates Stadium as one of the best signings this summer.
The French forward joined Arsenal from Lyon in a club-record £52 million deal and Liuz appreciates the fact that their London rivals have bought nothing but quality in all ramifications.
The pair played against each other in the Ligue 1 between 2014 and 2016 when Liuz was at Paris Saint-Germain but will face each other with their respective Premier League clubs for the first time in a friendly game tomorrow in Beijing.
And the Brazil international, conscious of the qualities at Lacazette disposal, claimed it is difficult playing against the France international, though he couldn’t against PSG when Liuz played for them.
“Lacazette is a top player, top striker. I had many opportunities to play against him in France and he was always difficult. Arsenal did well to take him”, Liuz told Standard Sport.
“What makes him so good? He has the timing to go into the space, he finishes well, he can score many goals, he can assist. So he is a top-level player.”
Lacazette scored 100 goals in 203 league appearances for Lyon before moving to Arsenal. He opened his Arsenal account in their pre-season game against Sydney last week.
With his attacking prowess, he will definitely give defenders in the Premier League a run for their money.
And Liuz comments have given the Arsenal fans of what to except from their record signing.
