Why Eden Hazard is replaceable at Chelsea – Marcel Desailly reveals

Eden Hazard is no doubt, one of Chelsea’s finest players for the past three seasons, but according to Marcel Desailly, he is replaceable.

Marcel Desailly while reacting to the rumours linking the Belgian midfielder to Real Madrid, told reporters that Chelsea have lots of players who can be as good as Eden Hazard if they are given the chance to prove themselves.

According to him, Chelsea is not a one-man club. If Eden Hazard leaves Stamford Bridge in January, the club will remain in good form, winning matches, and the team will remain as strong as they were before the Belgian international joined the club.

Though he admitted that everyone one would be sad if Conte’s team do not retain the player’s service for some years to come, he believes Chelsea can compete for the League title without the Belgium international.

“We will be sad if Hazard leaves the club,” he concluded.

Hazard was named the most outstanding player against Huddersfield on Tuesday, but he jokingly rejected the award, claiming that Willian deserves it.

He also spoke about Didier Drogba, who according to him, was a great player who could easily score goals and create fabulous chances for his team-mates. He believes Chelsea’s winning spirit still remains intact even when the Cote de Voire international left the club.

“Even when [Didier] Drogba left, one of the great players, the spirit of the club continued. They continued to win,” he said.

He told Goal reporters that Roman Abramovic is financially capable of bringing in new players who will ensure that Chelsea still remains as good as they were when they won the Premier League Trophy during the 2016-17 season.
