Why Eden Hazard is better than Mo Salah and De Bryune, Jamie Carragher
Former England and Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has rated Eden Hazard above Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne, after claiming the Belgian is currently the best player in the Premier league, per reports.
Hazard, who returned from the summer break late due to his exploits at the World Cup has had a barnstorming Premier league campaign thus far. He has found the back of the net five times in four games.
Chelsea are jointly on top of the Premier league log with Liverpool having had a 100% record but Salah’s start to life in the league this term has been described as humble – the Egyptian Messi has scored only two goals in five games.
Last term Salah won the Golden boots award cum the PFA player of the year award, all in his first season.
Meanwhile, De Bryune has been banjaxed with a knee injury but Man City are doing well without him.
De Bruyne was the best player for Manchester City last term following their conquest of the Premier league.
“I think Hazard is the best player in the Premier League,” Carragher said on Sky Sports
“What I mean by that is, De Bruyne and Salah were the best players last season, I’m talking over a four or five-year period if I think ‘who’s the man?’. I do, I think he’s fantastic.
“I think he was the best player at the World Cup. I should say that, I think he should have won player of the tournament.
“But he’s been used really well by the manager.
“The great thing that I love and say about every top attacking player is they can’t be bullied, they can’t be knocked off the ball.
“Me as a defender thinks ‘can I get at him? Can I wind him up? Can I do this? Can I do that?’.
“No, he’s too strong.”
