The appointment of Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte and Pep Guardiola as the respective managers of Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City meant the Premier League currently have a cluster of the most decorated managers in European football.
As expected, the English League became more exciting and the race for the top of the League turned unpredictable, albeit Chelsea are clear favourite to win the title this season. However, we are sure to see an off-pitch battle between these teams as we head to another transfer window.
Even though the transfer market is yet months away from being opened, Arsenal star striker Alexis Sanchez has ignited a transfer tussle between Chelsea, Man United and Manchester City as the aforementioned clubs are on their heels for the signature of the Chilean forward, this is according to the Metro. Nonetheless, the report claims Sanchez wants to link up with former boss Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.
Alexis Sanchez has been stalling over new contract with Arsenal despite being offered a significant pay-rise but the reason cannot be far-fetched. The Gunners have endured a torrid season, losing their last four away games among other shocking results at the Emirates. Champions League qualification now looks like a pipe-dream as his team are currently wallowing in sixth position on the table.
There is no telling of Arsene Wenger will continue at the helms of Arsenal but Sanchez is expected to quit the club. Man City are understood to have made offers for the workaholic striker but Guardiola was taciturn when he was quizzed about the move for the player.
‘Now is not the time to talk about that, we have a lot of business to do.’ Guardiola said in his press conference on Thursday.
