Man United dominated the first half of the match at the Belaidos with the goalie of the Celtics make some brilliant saves. However, Mkhitaryan and Lingard are blameworthy for wasting some of the chances of the first half.
As excepted the host of the game came out stronger in the second half but Rashford continued to torment the defense of the Spanish team albeit he missed a glorious chance in the 62nd minutes of the game.
Few minutes after his miss, Rashford sent his free-kick to the right of the pole and that sealed the victory for us, which has given us a huge advantage ahead of the second leg.
Pogba reckons that the England youngter knew he would bury the ball into the net before taking it.
‘He’s been doing great this season and we trust him,’ Pogba said of his United team-mate. ‘On the pitch we don’t look at the age.
‘When he took that free-kick, he told me he was going to score and he put it in so that’s the most important thing.
‘We had a lot of chances, it’s happened a lot of times this season but we have to carry on working hard on it and keep creating chances.’
Rashford was taken off the game in the 80th minutes as he took a slight knock. Mourinho would be hoping that the youngster is fit for their game against Arsenal this Sunday.
A lot has been said about Dele Alli but i forsee Rashford dethroning him as the PFA player of the season next term. WHAT A PLAYER!
