Watch: Why Jack Wilshere was really Red Carded against Manchester City

Amid the call for Arsene Wenger to spend more before the close of the transfer window, Jack Wilshere has headlined the media wave of Arsenal after losing his cool while starring for the B team of Arsenal.

Wilshere picked up a Red Card on Monday as Arsenal won Manchester City in the U-23 games  after shoving  Matt Smith of the Citizens, per reports.

While on loan with Bournemouth last season, Wilshere enjoyed his most “fit’ season as he was part of the Cherries first team squad for more than half of the season. He fractured his leg back in April but he has returned to action and had stepped up his recovery with the U-23 side of Arsenal.

The 25-year-old midfielder started off the game last night on a good note as he set up Eddie Nketiah to put Arsenal 3-1 up. However, in the second half, he got lashed on by Matthew Smith but he retaliated, which led to a brawl before he was sent off.

Wilshere is in the final year of his current contract with Arsenal and he has been heavily linked with a move to AC Milan and Newcastle United.

The injury prone midfielder is in the plans of Arsene Wenger this season, particularly as Santi Cazorla is out for an indefinite period of time. When he’s full fit, he’ll be ‘just like a new signing’ in the words of Arsene Wenger.
