Arsenal versatile centre-back Calum Chambers has confirmed signing an extension deal with Arsenal, this is according to reports.
Since joining Arsenal from Southampton in the summer of 2014, Chambers is yet to stake a claim even in the second team of Arsenal and the signing of Rob Holding from Bolton in the penultimate summer threw him further down the selection pecking order of the Gunners.
In other to get regular playing time and improve upon his game, he was sent on loan to the Smoggies where he starred in 24 Premier league games last season. He returned to the Emirates in the summer and he was heavily linked with a move away from the club.
However, the 22-year-old has now signed a contract that will keep him at the Emirates until 2021. The report was confirmed by Arsenal on their official website.
“Everyone at Arsenal is looking forward to Calum’s continued contribution to the club.”

Arsenal allowed Gabriel Paulista departed the club in the summer and the apparent decline of Per Mertesacker means they are condemned to keep Chambers within the fold.
Although Chambers is yet to impress fans and pundits, he can play in various positions across the back four and can also play as a holding midfielder.
Arsenal plays with three men at the heart of defence and with the recent injury to Shkodran Mustafi and the uncertainty over the fitness of Koscielny, they are thread bare in at the backline. Chambers is currently sidelined with hip injury too.
