Jose Mourinho will sanction the sale of Marcos Rojo to Paris Saint Germain in other to accommodate France international and Real Madrid centre-back, Raphael Varane, according to reports.
Rojo was signed to Manchester United by Luis Van Gaal in the summer of 2014 from Sporting Lisbon and he was an instant hit, as it is given that he can play in the centre-back and left full back position.
He was also favoured by Jose Mourinho on his appointment but an injury kept him out of action for the most part of last season and he has managed to start in only six Premier League games this season.
Rojo is currently down in the selection pecking order of Mourinho as Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are top choice for the Portuguese manager.
According to the Express Sport, who cited a report from Spanish publication Don Balon, Man United are weighing a deal for Varane and there is already a plan to offload Rojo.
Mourinho worked with Varane at the Santiago Bernabeu and the pair have been in constant communication ever since the Portuguese tactician left. Mourinho is a staunch admirer of Varane and it is in his plan to sign the star for United.
Real Madrid are looking to overhaul their squad in the summer following a horrendous La Liga season but their transfer relationship with Manchester United may just make it difficult to sign Varane.
United attempted to sign Alvaro Morata in the summer but they failed and David De Gea is still in the radar of the Champions League holders. We might end up seeing swap deals.
Rojo is currently valued at £16.20m.
