Up Blues! Chelsea close deal for $89m-rated Man United transfer target

Just like we saw the return of Paul Pogba to Man United and that of Alvaro Morata to Real Madrid last summer, Chelsea are set for the return of their former striker.

According to emerging reports, Belgium international and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku is on the verge of completing a move with Chelsea.

Lukaku, 24, enjoyed his best ever season in the Premier League last term where he scored 25 League goals for the Toffees and ended as the second top scorer, he has been heavily linked with Chelsea transfer since the close of last season.

Chelsea are not the only Club in the chase of the player as the Express are claiming that his desire to move to Stamford Bridge is tantamount to a blow for Man United, who are also keen on the centre-forward.

Lukaku has made bare his decision to move away from Goodison Park as he looks to play for a bigger Club. However, Chelsea are front runners for his signature as there are unconfirmed reports by the Mirror that a deal has been sealed by the Blues for the player.

Man United are on the cusp of signing Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid and so Chelsea have no reason not to seal a deal for the Belgian. Lukaku is expected to rejoin Chelsea, where he left in 2014, as a direct replacement for the transfer bound Diego Costa.

Costa received a message from Antonio Conte informing him that he’ll not be featuring for the Blues next season. This he revealed after Spain’s draw with Colombia, per the report.

“Antonio Conte has told me by message that I will not continue with Chelsea and that’s it.

“My relationship with the coach has been bad this season and it is clear that he does not want me on the team.

Chelsea will be involved in the Champions League and Premier League next season, Conte is compelled to bolster his squad in order to remain competitive. The Blues will have to fork out £70m($88.97m) to sign Lukaku.

  1. This is really a good news that Lukaku is billed for a return to Stamford Bridge. Looking to seeing Lukaku replacing Costa. Costa is a good player but because of his indiscipline sometimes exhibited on the field of play, I think Conte was pushed to wall. hence Conte is right for asking him to go. A good player should exhibit some discipline and show respect to Coaches. Conte is a good disciplinarian I love him. ABDULRAZAQ

  2. Bye bye tyson costa! sorry, Anthony costa, we needs to a good image our club.
    Welcome back home Lukaku.
