Up Blues: Chelsea and Roma agree £34million fee for Antonio Rudiger

Chelsea fans have been sitting at the edge of their seat especially seeing their arch rivals Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United bolster their squad. You’all can make a toast because there’s big news.

According to reports by Skysports, Chelsea and Italian giants Roma have reached an agreement for the transfer of German centre-back Antonio Rudiger.

Rudiger has been in the spotlight of Chelsea’s transfer news but he is now finalising terms for his move to Stamford Bridge. The Blues will pay £34million to Roma for the services of the player, as claimed by the report.

The agreement of the deal has come at a time when Chelsea have sold more players in the transfer window than they bought. Upon the completion of the deal, he may join Chelsea for their pre-season tour in the far East.

Rudiger was a squad member of the German team that conquered the Confederations Cup in Russia. He was actively involved at the heart of defense for Germany and justified the Blues pursuit of him.

Chelsea are currently without quality options in defense. Letting John Terry and Nathan depart Stamford Bridge has left the Blues thread bare at the heart of defense.

Rudiger joined Roma from Stuttgart in the summer of 2015 in a £3.5million deal, he has since imposed himself as a favorite tough-tackler for Roma.

He is suited to playing on the right side of a back three, which might leave Ceazar Azpilicueta on the fringes when the season kicks-offs.
