Tottenham have had their bid for creative attacker Cengiz Under knocked back by Italian outfit Roma.
Spurs submitted a £30 million pounds bid for the Roma star, but saw the bid rejected by the Serie A football superpower.
Local rivals Arsenal are said to be keen too. Tottenham are reportedly thinking of a better approach that will help them pip the Gunners, and a hard place, that will eventually secure the signature of Under.
Under has fuelled interests in the Gunners camp and Arsenal are reportedly keen according to reports floating about in the media.
Arsenal are desperately in need of a new frontman, with Danny Welbeck sidelined by long injury.
Roma is under no pressure to cut Under off from their frontline in January. However, they have slapped a price fee of £45 million pounds on the star, who has had a hand in five goals this season, as many times as scoring for the club.
Under is versatile in the midfield berth and can be positioned in any areas within the berth, which has suggested the high rise in his fee, following interests from Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy is willing to dip the club’s fund into the market in January, but Arsenal won’t hold out in their bid to sign Under.
