Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed why he sold Lucas Moura to Tottenham Hotspurs during his time at Paris Saint Germain , this is according to reports.
Moura decided to call time on his career with PSG in the January transfer window after failing to dislodge the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr and Angel Di Maria to a first team place in the squad of Emery.
Moura’s sale to Spurs was one of the last deals sanctioned by Emery before he left the club at the end of last season. The decision of the Spanish manager to allow the winger leave divided the fans in opinion as he showed quality.
Arsenal will take on Tottenham in the Premier League – speaking ahead of the game, Emery was quizzed about the sale of the player and he revealed it was down to the mega-money signings of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
“He’s a very good player, young but with big experience in Brazil and Paris,” Emery said Moura.
“When Neymar and Mbappe were arriving it was very difficult for him.
“Now I think he’s happy. He’s playing and playing with big performances.”
Moura has gotten his career back on the bounce since joining Spurs. He has featured in 10 League games for Spurs this term and has scored three goals.
