Arsenal are weighing in on a deal for either Chelsea’s Gary Cahill or Eric Bailly of Manchester United, this is according to reports.
Rob Holding has been one of the most improved and impressive players for Arsenal this season but he sustained an injury and will not be back to action until next season.
The Gunners have done well this term given that they have a new manager but the defence of the club appear to be their weakest link. With the injuries already piling up ahead of the second half of the season, Emery is looking for a temporary fix in the form of Bailly or Cahill, according to ESPN.
Bailly is out of favour at Man United at the moment and the club are looking to sign a top-notch defender in the January window, throwing him further down the selection pecking order. It is widely claimed that the Red Devils would allow the Ivorian defender leave but Arsenal could swap him with Aaron Ramsey.
Meanwhile, Maurizio Sarri has told Cahill that he can leave and the England legend may not be interested in moving North-ward as he will also spend time on the bench. His contract will expire at the end of the season and he could leave in January for a paltry fee.
