Unai Emery will not drop Welshman Aaron Ramsey from his team-sheet this season after the knock-back in his negotiations for a new deal to remain at Arsenal.
Ramsey’s contract negotiations with the Gunners fell through this week after Arsenal said they will not be renewing his contract.
Ramsey is Arsenal’s longest player and remains contracted at the north London club until next summer.
Ozil is Arsenal highest earner, pocketing over 300,000-per-week as wages and it is understood Ramsey had urged the club to raise his, which was immediately turned down.
While the 27-year-old will be allowed to speak to other European clubs in January, Emery has hinted he’s in no rush to drop the star.
Ramsey was included in Emery’s line-up in their 2-0 win over Watford today and Emery insists amidst the talks surrounding his departure, the 27-year-old must give his best quality to the club.
Emery said: “We want the control for the three elements — for the club, for the player and for me. I want to give them the most stability to show us they can be focused on the performance only and to show us with each match.
“Now I am sure the best for us and the best for him is to take this opportunity to do the best performance each match, to show everyone his best quality.”
He has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
