“To be honest” World class German defender breaks news on signing Chelsea deal

Antonio Rudiger has quelled reports that he is in talks with Chelsea over signing a new deal, this is according to reports.

Rudiger joined Chelsea from Roma in the penultimate summer and he has established himself as a key figure in the team of Maurizio Sarri.

Reports have been rife that the German footballer would put pen to paper on a deal but it appears that he is happy with his current deal.

He still have over three years left on his current contract. No need of any fuss over his future.

He was asked if he is in discussion with Chelsea over a new deal and he replied:

“That’s not the case to be honest.

“There’s no need, because I still have three-and-a-half years to go.
“There’s no speaking between me and the club. It’s also not necessary at the moment either with three-and-a-half years to go.”
Rudiger and David Luiz have formed and forged a strong partnership at the heart of Chelsea’s defence. Even though they are way off their best, we may continue to see the pair for long.
Gary Cahill is expected to leave in the January transfer window while Chelsea are also expected to bolster their squad with the signing of a defender and a striker.
