Man United were one better than the penultimate season when they qualified for the Champions League – to be able to compete favorably in all the competitions they’ll feature in, Jose Mourinho must bolster all areas of his squad as a matter of necessity.
The Red Devils have confirmed the signing of Victor Lindelof, who signed from Portuguese side Benfica earlier this week. The Swedish centre-back is the first player signed by Man United this summer and he is expected to slot into the first team of United.
Mourinho inherited a squad he wasn’t pleased with. He sold a handful of the players signed on to United by Luis Van Gaal albeit he signed some players last summer. Currently United are without a centre-forward and the midfield looks thin.
We’ve drawn up a list of three players that United must complete this summer:
Morata has been the most talked about Man United transfer target. He is currently one of the most talented strikers in the World but for lack of game time, the Spaniard wants out of the Santiago Bernabeu.
Jose Mourinho had reported convinced the player the join and there report that Morata had agreed personal terms with the striker. However, recent reports have indicated that Chelsea are also interested in signing him but we must up on offer for him to sign him.
Morata got married to his girlfriend Alice Campello, congrats to them.
The thought of the best player in the World playing for Man United is one that appeals and tickles the fans of Man United. Who wouldn’t want to have Ronaldo in his team.
Ronaldo has reportedly informed Los Blancos of his desires to leave Madrid and it is thought that Man United are still a Club he desires to play for. He played under Jose Mourinho at Madrid and a reunion may just be in the offing.
Since the departure of Paul Scholes from Man United, the player that has performed closely to him in midfield for Man United is Michael Carrick but age is already telling on the midfielder and he needs a heir apparent.
United have been linked to a plethora of midfielders including Nemanja Matic, Eric Dier and Tiemoue Bakayoko but it is the French star that can thicken United’s midfield and allow Pogba to perform optimally.
Bakayoko is coveted by Chelsea but he will do well in Mourinho’s 4-2-3-1 formation even though he’s not a like-for-like replacement for Carrick.
