Arsene Wenger boasted of the most headcount for quality midfielders in the Premier League last term, so much so that a player like Jack Wilshere had no place in the squad and had to be sent on loan in order to play regularly.
Wenger’s effort in bolstering the Gunners squad this summer could pass for success but a handful of Arsenal players have rebelled on Arsenal contract offers, they are either demanding astronomical increase in wage, or Clubs are heavily linked with transfers for them.
According to reports making the rounds, Jack Wilshere could switch Arsenal for Italian team Sampdoria this summer.
Like Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere is in the final 12 months of his Arsenal contract. The midfielder spent last season on loan with Bournemouth before his ‘injury-free’ season was scuppered by a broken leg in the April of this year.
He is currently undergoing rehabilitation in London and it was Italian Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio that claims Samdoria have contacted Arsenal over a possible move for the 25-year-old. The report further stated that Arsenal are willing to accepted £8.9million for Wilshere.
Wilshere has been dubbed as the player to step into the big boots of Santi Cazorla following his protracted injury but he’s akin to playing a bit-part during every campaign.
It is highly unlikely that Arsene Wenger will listen to offers for Wilshere even though the report has claimed contrary and given the inflated nature of the transfer market, £8.9m is too low an offer for a 25-year old midfielder.
