PSG right-back, Thomas Meunier has publicly declared his love for Manchester United. He also hopes that José Mourinho will consider buying him anytime soon.
The Belgian international who performed brilliantly at the right-back position for PSG during last season has seen his playing time limited, due to the arrival of Brazilian star, Daniel Alves from Juventus in the summer.
It was earlier reported that Meunier was close to joining Manchester United before the start of this season, but his hope was dashed as Mourinho opted for Victor Lindelof to bolster his defense line.
Despite being overlooked by Mourinho during the summer transfer window, Thomas Meunier rejected Chelsea’s deadline day offer. The player recently voiced out his frustration for being left out of the club’s starting XI under current coach Unai Emery.
‘Yes [I am frustrated] because I want to play every match, whether it’s against Gueugnon, Niort or Bayern Munich,’ he said in October.
The Belgian wants to play in every single match played by the Ligue 1 giants, irrespective of the game’s importance because he knows it will be crucial to his World Cup place next year.
Meunier’s hopes might come to pass as Mourinho is in desperate search for a right-back and a left-back. The Portuguese coach might be tempted to sign the Belgium defender as a result of his open declaration of affection for the Premier League giants.
Meunier joined PSG on a four-year deal from Club Bruge in 2016. The move was reported to have cost PSG £7 million. He has appeared in 29 matches since joining PSG.
