The current transfer market is one that has seen the top Clubs of the Premier League shatter their transfer record to bolster their squad. Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool set for themselves new transfer records in the signing of strikers.
Man United have spent the excess of £100m in the signing of Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku but Jose Mourinho is unsated with the signing of two players. The Red Devils are willing to pay as much as £70m for the services of Marco Veratti, according to report.
Verratti is heavily linked with a move to Barcelona but Paris Saint Germain are interested in Anthony Martial, and they would only agree a swap deal with Man United for their ace midfielder. Nonetheless, we understand that Mourinho still believes Anthony Martial perfectly fits his plans for the upcoming season and has ruled out possible move for the French.
The Red Devils have agreed to offer €78million (£70m) for Verratti and they believe it would make the Parc des Princes outfit consider their stance on his transfer, reports Calciomercato. United were heavily linked with a move for Nemanja Matic but the Blues are unwilling to sell to their rivals.
Man United became Verratti’s probable next destination when he appointed Mino Raiola, who also doubles as the agent of Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Raiola has close ties with Mourinho and it is believed that they would broker a deal for the Italian midfielder.
Man United are a tad short of options in midfield. Since the sale of Morgan Schneiderlain, Bastein Schweinsteiger and Wayne Rooney, the Club has failed to sign another midfielder and Mourinho is clamouring for a new face at Old Trafford.
