Sturridge dropped, Salah and Firmino starts, Liverpool probable 4-3-3 formation vs Hoffenheim

Liverpool face Hoffenheim in the first leg of their double legged Champions League play-offs and a lot of theories as to why the Reds must win the game has been posited.

Some quarters of Liverpool fans believe Philippe Coutinho’s stay at Anfield is hinge of Champions League qualification, while other feel of the club does not qualify, it will set them aback and they may not be able to retain a top-four spot in the League.

Liverpool had a shambolic start in the Premier League as they drew Watford City in a thrilling game at Vicarage Road last Saturday. The Reds will be looking to put the weekend game behind them and  build a winning momentum when the take on the Bundesliga side.

Klopp was not without several injuries in his team last season and this term, the trend has continued. Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana are ruled out for long term with injuries while Danny Sturridge is a major doubt. Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho has missed the trip due to a back problem.

Roberto Firmino is set to lead the attack of the Reds and he will be flanked by new boy Mohamed Salah and Saido Mane.
