Skysports confirmation: Arsenal agree to pay £45million for Alexandre Lacazette

Arsene Wenger is one man that holds the transfer purse of Arsenal with tight fist and this has led the Club to losing most of their transfer targets.

Just like last summer, Alexandre Lacazette have headlined Arsenal transfer news but the deal-breaker for the party has been his mammoth transfer valuation that seems to big for Arsene Wenger. Last summer Arsenal saw their bid Lacazette rebuffed.

This summer, Lyon were understood to be holding out for €55m against Arsenal’s “meagre” offer of €4om for their star striker. However, latest reports by Skysports have indicated that Lacazette is now nearing Arsenal move as  the Gunners have a agreed to pay more than €50m plus ad-ons for the star.

Negotiations for the deal have begun in earnest and the deal is expected to be sealed in the coming days as GFN understand by Sky sports and some close sources.

Lacazette had agreed to join the Rojiblancos but the ban handed to them by FIFA shut the doors of signings to the Vicente Calderon. Atletico Madrid would not be able to sign any player until January.

Arsenal’s failure to qualify for the Champions League has been a major turn off for Lacazette, who would have preferred to play for a Club in the Holy Grail of European football.

Lacazette scored 37 goals in 45 games for Lyon last season but still plays second fiddle to Oliver Giroud at the National team. Who is a better striker?

The President of Lyon Jean-Michel Aulas revealed that Lacazette wants a move away from the Club and since a move to Atletico Madrid is impossible, they will accept Arsenal’s offer for him.
