Chelsea face a challenging task as Thibaut Courtois could force the club’s hand in cashing in on him before he leave on a free next summer.
The 26-year-old Belgian shot-stopper will see to the end of his contract at the English outfit, as he has adamantly refused to put pen to paper.
Before the tail end of last term, Chelsea were prepared to make him the highest paid shot-stopper in the World, a move that was intended to tie him down at the west London outfit for the longer haul .
However, that offer has been cleared off the table, and Chelsea would rather go for Brazilian Alisson Becker instead.
Alisson impressive performance for Roma last season highlighted him as a good prospect between the sticks.
The 25-year-old has been chased by a host of clubs aside Chelsea, the likes of Real Madrid and Merseysiders Liverpool.
However Chelsea are in the lead for his services and they must offload Courtois, to seal his move.
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth told Transfer Talk podcast:
He said: “There are a few scenarios.
“There’s one which would see Courtois stay at Chelsea and the Roma keeper Alisson go to Real Madrid because there’s an interest there.
“If Courtois gets his wish to go to Real Madrid, according to our Sky colleagues Chelsea will then bid 65 million pounds for Alisson”
Chelsea are also linked to Denmark ace Jasper Schmeichel and Roma are reportedly in the picture too for the shot-stopper.
