José Mourinho could get the chop as Manchester United manager, and Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly endorsed Pochettino as the club’s next manager, says The Sun.
United have experienced a gloomy start to their Premier League campaign this season. They are close to having a crisis with internal issues that threatens to tear the club’s wall apart.
And their long run of match results has been poor despite packing and boasting some of the best talents in the Premier League.
Tottenham’s manager Mauricio Pochettino has been handpicked as the club’s next likely successor.
United have been on their heels trying to lock down on Pochettino and only came as close to nabbing him when they had set him up with Sir Alex Ferguson after giving Louis van Gaal the boot, two years ago.
It is understood Pochettino laughed off their deep interests in his services then.
However, talks floating around the media, if they are anything to go by, is that United will really go hard at getting Pochettino to take helm at the club. United no longer see Mourinho as a man who can deliver the goods and fear that if he stays beyond this season, he may yet further sink the club’s hope of returning to Premier League dominance.
