Manchester United have been through rough patches this season, and their manager has bemoaned the quality at his disposal several times. But, there could be a perfect match somewhere.
Jose Mourinho has been crying out for top class players all his reign at United. Like the summer before, last summer, the Portuguese tactician was famously seeking one of any three wingers namely Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, Chelsea’s Willian, and Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic.
At the moment, the lack of a proper winger is doing the Old Trafford team more good than bad. The former Chelsea manager has been forced to tweak his tactics several times this season in order to accommodate the obvious flaws of his team.
However, if the report according to The Mail is anything to go by, United may finally smile. The Mail reports that Catalan club Barcelona have shortlisted Ousmane Dembele for a January transfer.
Other English clubs, the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool, have all been linked to the winger in the past and are still keen on bringing him to England.
At just 21 years of age, Dembele is the opportunity United should never think of passing on. After failing to make a name for himself at Barca despite the hefty transfer sum, Dembele is ready to live his dream with a top European club which the Red Devils are.
United are likely to pay far less than the £135m Barca paid Dortmund for his transfer. His nationality – being French – would also help him as Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial already play for the club.
Seeing Dembele in a United shirt may be a pipe dream for now, but there is no denying that this is an opportunity for United to grab one of the game’s most promising youngsters and help fulfill his dreams.
