Roman Abramovich sanctions €31m deal for in-demand Arsenal and United target

Aleksandr Golovin to Chelsea is on the verge of being completed, this is according to rife reports.

One player has taken the world by storm in the ongoing FIFA World cup in Russia and that man is Golovin, who has been able to tick the boxes of the Russian national team.

The 22-year-old midfielder is adept at retaining ball possession and offering threat in attack creatively. He helped Russian knocked out Spain on Sunday in a tensed game that saw the Russian side defended for the most part of the game.

His swashbuckling display for Russia at the world has attracted several clubs including Manchester United and Arsenal but Chelsea are now thought to be in pole position for his signature, as it is given that his compatriot Roman Abramovich wants him at Stamford Bridge.

Juventus were in talks with the player’s club CSKA Moscow but the deal fell through over his transfer fee. The Metro claim Abramovich has sanctioned a  £27million Chelsea deal for the player which will be completed after his exploits at the world cup.

Danny Drinkwater has been lined up for sale after failing to justify his signing and it appears that Golovin will be signed as his direct replacement.

Chelsea are yet to sign any player in this window, this is because they are yet to resolve their managerial crisis. Nonetheless, it will not be long before Sarri gets in gear for the Blues job.
