One player took Europe by storm last season and it was French star and Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe, who despite his age nicked a permanent place in the team of the League 1 Champions and fired them to the Champions League semi-final.
Mbappe became the subject of heavy transfer speculation but Arsenal were front runners for his signature given the fact that he was liken to the Gunners legend Thierry Henry and the presence of compatriot Arsene Wenger.
However, the 18-year-old attacker met with Arsene Wenger, and their meeting spanned three hours, reports the Express.
The Gunners made a whopping £87million offer for the youngster but Les Monégasques are understood to be holding out for £130million, which if offered by any Club, would make Mbappe the most expensive footballer in the history of football.
Real Madrid are understood be heavily interested in signing the star as it is given that the star would replace Cristiano Ronaldo on the long term. Florentino Perez and Zinedine Zidane were said to have met and they could sanction a huge move for him.
However, Arsene Wenger was on ground when France locked horns with the Three Lions in a friendly game on 14th of June and he met for three hours with Mbappe. The report claims Wenger talked the player up about the benefits of joining Arsenal against other Clubs.
Mbappe has chosen Thierry Henry as one of his idols in football and apparently, Wenger also said he would follow the footstep of Henry if he so decides on an Arsenal move. According to France football, Arsene Wenger has not given up the hope of signing the player and might return with another bid.
