Revealed: Jose Mourinho’s message to Ed Woodward after Neymar move to PSG

While the football world is still in shock over the transfer fee of Brazil born playmaker Neymar, Man United manager Jose Mourinho still want a player to be added to his otherwise strong squad.

Before the open of the transfer window, Jose Mourinho had informed his principal of Man United of his desire to bolster his squad with four players.

The Portuguese tactician has so far added three top-notch players to his rank. Victor Lindelof joined from Benfica, he was followed by Romelu Lukaku from Goodison Park and the latest acquisition of the club is the maverick defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic. Nonetheless, the Mourinho is unsatisfied with his acquisition.

Despite the flurry of quality players at his disposal, the Special One has sent a message to Ed Woodward that he could do with one more signing before the transfer window is slammed shut, this is according to report.

“We need everyone. It’s going to be good, it’s going to be fun to choose the team for every match according to the plan, the opponent, our game-plan,” Mourinho said.

“The squad is good and as I said a few months ago, I was hoping for four players to improve the squad.

“The club did a fantastic job by getting three of them, which is very difficult in the crazy market we’re in now.

“I thank the club. I’ll be happier if they give me four of four but they did a great effort.”

Man United are still heavily linked with a move for Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic but their offers for him have been short of his valuation. However, Ed Woodward may adhere to Jose Mourinho’s plea and sign a player.

The signing of Perisic for United is expected to bring out the best in Romelu Lukaku as the 28-year-old is adept at taking crosses.

The Red Devils are also linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale but the most realistic target is Perisic.
