Revealed: Jose Mourinho’s message to £36m Man United signing on how to become a regular starter

Manchester United are currently the Premier League rave of the moment as they are have conceded no goal after scoring eight in two matches. The whole team of the Red Devils have earned plaudits for their display but French star Anthony Martial has assumed the position of a super sub.

Martial has come off the bench in United two league games and he’s scored goals in as many as his appearance. However, Jose Mourinho wants to see the French star to do better and he has asked him to improve upon his game, per reports.

Martial has been playing second fiddle to Marcus Rashford on the left flank but his form from United pre-season tour has seen calls from supporters of the club that the French bloke be handed a starting berth.

Man United were heavily linked with a move for Ivan Perisic and that stemmed from Mourinho being unimpressed with the French star. While Martial continues to prove his mettle, he could start from the bench when Man United play Leicester City this weekend.

Talking about Martial when quizzed, Mourinho said:

” I think when you have some talents you cannot waste, I think when you are blessed with some talent, you have to fulfill that talent, you have to explore that talent, you cannot be happy with just glimpses of talent, and that I’m not going to change.

“I want more and more and more from him because he has all the qualities for that. He understands me better too and the personal relation is good and I don’t think it’s fundamental in a player-manager relation, but it’s an added good thing to have a good relation.

“So again, Anthony I hope he is going to be better this season than last season.”

Anthony Martial joined Man United in the summer of 2015 as the most expensive teenager in football after a £36million deal was brokered for his move. He was a first-teamer under Luis Van Gaal but he has struggled to get regular game time under Jose Mourinho.
