Jose Mourinho is not having the best times in this transfer window. Barring the signing of Victor Lindelof, Man United are yet to complete a second transfer signing despite making huge offers for their transfer targets.
We understand that Manchester United are closing on a deal for their prime target Alvaro Morata as Mourinho aims bring back the glory days, reports the Skysports.
Morata had to cut short his honeymoon with his wife in order to seal a move to Old Trafford. Talks are currently ongoing but Madrid are still holding out for a bigger price than United are offering.
Morata is valued at £70million but the Red Devils are willing to pay a price lower than that. Florentiono Perez will accept a price in the region of £60million to allow the player move.
The Spanish striker is also on the radar of Chelsea, having played under Antonio Conte in Juventus but Man United are leading the Blues in the Chase for the player.
However, a report by Spanish media outlet Don Balon reckons that the deal for Morata by Man United could on a swap agreement that would eventually see David De Gea jump the ship and join Los Blancos.
De Gea, who was touted as the heir to Iker Casilas was close to a move to the Santiago Bernabeu but for a faulty fax machine 0n the closing day of the penultimate summer transfer window.
Reports are now rife that Madrid have not given up hope in the pursuit of De Gea and they could even use him as a Morata as bait to get De Gea.
I do not think this is the sought of deal that Jose Mourinho would allow. De Gea has been consistently fantastic in-between the sticks for United.
