Argentine defender Ever Banega is close to joining Arsenalin January.
Unai Emery is keen to dip his toe into the transfer market and Banega has long been linked with the Spaniard.
Banega played under Emery during his stint at Sevilla and is eager to reunite with the boss in Emirates.
Transfer expert Tancredi Palmieri has hinted that a move is on the horizon for the 30-year-old and Arsenal have ready to fork out 18 million pounds for the Argentina international’s signature.
Palmieri on Twitter disclosed that the 30-year-old move was nearing finish.
The 30-year-old was a spine behind Emery’s European winning team in 2015 and 2016 and the experience he has racked up, has Gunners storming out to sign him.
Banega has been linked with strings of club in the past, but Gunners have gunned past the pack in a bid to land him.
A move in the summer was ruled out despite Arsenal’s pressing in the summer to sign the defender.
Former Gunners striker Ian Wright has urged the club to move out player following their 5-1 rout at Anfield. Wright is hopeful the loss will force Arsenal to invest in players in the market in January.
Meanwhile, reports in Italy say that Aaron Ramsey has agreed to join Juventus.
