Arsenal will step up preparations for the upcoming season when they square up against the reigning kings of the Premier League and their City rival Chelsea at Beijing’s iconic Bird’s Nest Stadium on Saturday.
The match will afford Arsene Wenger the glimpse of what to expect when the League campaign starts properly in August. The Premier League title has eluded the Gunners for over 12 years and Wenger is condemned to prove his critiques wrong after signing a two-year deal.
The Gunners are currently exuding so much confidence following their win over perennial rivals Bayern Munich and they will be looking to replicate same feat against Capital rivals Chelsea.
A chunk of Arsenal player battled with illness during the game against the Bavarians – key players including Per Mertesacker, Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and Sead Kolasinac were not spared but the biggest worry for Arsenal appears to be Laurent Koscileny, who has been battling with a back injury hitherto.
Arsene Wenger resorted to playing Mohamed Elneny at the heart of defense but his shambolic display leaves so much to be desired. He will not be thrusted at the back against Chelsea but Cohen Bramall is expected to play as the left back.
Arsenal are expected to field a most of their first team players but we think this is how the Gunners will file out.
