PSG ready to agree £70m bid for Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho

Liverpool are certainly not lagging behind in the transfer window but the biggest challenge Jurgen Klopp may have is to keep his current crop of player.

According to reports by the Express, French giants Paris Saint Germain are prepared to lodge a £70million bid for Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho, who is very well know for his flamboyancy in midfield, ended the just concluded season as one of the best creative midfielders in the Premier League. His show-offs did not go unnoticed as he has been on the radar of Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain.

However, it appears that it is the Park Des Princes outfits that are winning the battle for his signature. French Publication Le10 Sport claim the former French Champions will test the resolve of the Reds to hold on to the player with a £70m bid.

Paris Saint Germain have a hefty transfer-warchest, they initially had Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe as they prime target but with those deals hitting the rocks, they have shifted attention on Liverpool’s most priced asset Phillipe Coutinho, Le10 Sport further claims.

Klopp is currently building a formidable team for Liverpool ahead of the Premier and Champions League – allowing Coutinho to leave will adversely affect the Club as they have built the team around him.

Coutinho had been quizzed about a possible Anfield depature and he said:

“A lot of people have been asking me this, but I don’t understand,” he said.

“I have a contract with Liverpool, a long contract. This speculation is for other people only.”
