PSG agree £70m deal for Alexis Sanchez, player rejects Arsenal offer

One of the most difficult conundrums for Arsene Wenger in this transfer window has been the refusal of his key players to accent to the contract laid on the table for them. Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are currently dubbed contract rebels but the biggest worry for the Gunners is the latter.

Since moving from Barcelona in the summer 2014, Alexis Sanchez has only made the attack of Arsenal more potent, leading the Club to two FA Cup titles. The Chilean international fancies playing on the biggest stage of European football, which is why he wants out of Arsenal after they failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Former Ligue 1 Champions Paris Saint Germain are preparing a mammoth £70million bid for Alexis Sanchez and he could be tempted on the big money move, reports the Express.

Sanchez, 28, is in the final year of his Arsenal contract and has stalled over signing a new deal. Sanchez is holding out for  £400k-per-week in wages. He rejected £300k-per-week of the Gunners placed on the table him and Paris Saint Germain are looking to take advantage of the player’s situation.

The Sporting director of the Parc des Princes outfit Antero Henrique was reportedly in London earlier this week to broker a deal with Arsenal for Sanchez and they are willing to meet his wage demand.

It will be fool-hardy for Arsene Wenger to allow his most prized asset leave but the £7omillion offer could tempt Arsenal heavily. If Sanchez does not sign an extension this summer, he may walk on free transfer in the coming summer.

Arsenal have already bolstered their squad with the signing of Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac. Wenger is poised to bring back the glory days for the Gunners but with Sanchez in his side.
