The last few weeks have been particularly difficult for Arsenal, Arsene Wenger and the fans at large – The Gunners have managed to win just two of their of their last six games, tasting defeats to Burnley at home in the Premier League and knocked out by 10-2 on aggregate by Bayern Munich in the Champions among loses to Chelsea and Liverpool.
Arsenal now sits fifth on the Premier League log and 16-points adrift of League leaders Chelsea who are favorite the clinch the coveted trophy for the second time in three years. This season, Arsenal’s only and realistic chance at a trophy is the FA Cup and they are scheduled to play Lincoln City in a sixth round fixture later today.
Despite some of Arsenal’s key players doubtful for this game, Arsene Wenger has a large squad that should be able to thump the non-League side. Speaking ahead of the game, Arsene Wenger revealed that there were no new injuries in his squad but Iwobi and Welbeck are doubtful for the game.
Players like Shkodran Mustafi and Francis Coquelin have been below par in previous games and should be given time off on the bench, maybe they’ll learn more. Lucas Perez has shown that he has the quality to play on any stage and he’s sure to get a starting berth with Rob Holding who exudes more confidence than Gabriel Paulista.
Arsenal’s propensity to lose games is not in doubt, so we expect Arsene Wenger to tweak his team but field the best of best players to enable to team win the psychological battle ahead of their tough Premier League games.
