Manchester United youngster Timothy Fosu-Mensah has been put through paces in his debut training session with London club Crystal Palace after completing a season-long loan move with the Premier League side.
Fosu-Mensah broke into Man United first team during the days of Dutch tactician Luis Van Gaal at Old Trafford. Although he has failed to stake a claim in the first team of Man United, Jose Mourinho handed the 19-year-old star game time in the Premier League last season – he starred in 11 games for the Reds Devils.
However, the signing of Victor Lindelof from Benfica this summer has thrown Fosu-Mensah further down the selection pecking order of Mourimho, hence the decision to send him out on a loan spell. At Selhurst Park, Frank De Boer is certain to give the youngster regularly game time.
Rose Joined Man United from Ajax in 2014 and he is currently one of the most versatile players at the Club. He can play as right back, centre-back and even as a central-midfielder. The Dutch star put pen to paper for Man United last October and the new deal is expected to keep him at Old Trafford until 2020 but he will spend next season on loan at Selhurst Park.
Jose Mourinho revealed on Monday that the player was dropped from the Super Cup team as he was concluding a move to Crystal Palace and Mourinho’s submission was confirmed by De Boer.
“There is truth in the reports, yes. We think he will train with us tomorrow. It’s a season-long loan.”
