Matt Miazga has joined Championship side Reading on loan until the end of this season from Chelsea, this is according to reports.
The USA international joined Chelsea in the January of 2016 from New York Red Bulls and has featured in the Premier League only twice. He has spent his spells with Chelsea on loan at Vitesse Arnhem and Nantes.
The 23-year-old arrived Hogwood Park and completed his medical on Friday before agreeing to put pen to paper on a short term deal.
“Matt is a skilful, committed and commanding presence at the centre of defence and I am very pleased we have been able to welcome him into our family.” Royals manager Jose Gomes said.
He featured only eight times for Nantes this season, which informed his decision to join Reading and command a regular shirt.
Reading are currently struggling in the Championship but they have been actively involved in the transfer window. Emiliano Martinez, Norwich striker Nelson Oliveira and Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria have also joined them this winter.
The Royals have won only once in their last 12 League games but they are looking to turn things around and avoid relegation.
