Arsenal have reportedly sealed the acquisition of Uruguay international Lucas Torreira from Serie A outfit Sampdoria, with his unveiling set to be coming soon.
After a less than expected finish in last season’s Premier League, the Gunners have handpicked a number of prospects in the summer to revamp the squad, one that will be able to compete for the top four slots under new boss Unai Emery.
So far, Uruguay international Torreira has emerged one of their targets. And numerous reports from Italy confirmed that an agreement has been reached by both European outfits including British tabloid Guardian supporting the claim.
According to the Daily Cannon, Arsenal will settle £26.4 million for the player after discussing personal terms with his representatives on Monday.
The deal looks very worthy on paper and if everything goes on smoothly, a five-year deal will reportedly be struck.

The Gunners have been remarkable in their summer deals and have been rewarded with the arrival of Swiss veteran Stephan Lichtsteiner, including recently sealing the acquisition of Dortmund-man Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
Torreira is promising box-to-box player with keen abilities on the field of place and often, has been described as “hardworking”.
Reports hinted that his release clause will be paid in over three years to Sampdoria.
