It all started with Romelu Lukaku and Pogba loafing about in the United States. We never did get the gist as the English media were busy following the trails of Alvaro Morata who was rumoured to be close to joining The Red Devils. However, that was not to be majorly due to relationship gone sour between Real Madrid on their counterparts in Manchester.
Now, Lukaku’s arrival to Manchester United is given after it was reported this morning that he has refused to pick his manager’s call. Ronald Koeman is furious that the Belgian international is yet to report for training and refused to oblige his phone calls too.
I guess only Koeman and, probably, his dog does not know Lukaku’s move to United is on the cusp of being announced, as was reported that both clubs have agreed a record deal worth £75 million. The 24-year-old has equally agreed long-term contract of five years.
The biggest hint that the deal is sealed by Man United was thrown into the fray by Man United legend Phil Neville on his Instagram page. He posted the picture of Lukaku in United’s kit but we cannot say for sure if it is mock up or real albeit it looks real.
Chelsea are left fuming on this deal, as they are regretting their decisions of not inserting a Real Madridesque contract in which they would have a had the option of first buy. The Blues created a new twist last night after they matched the offers of Man United.
The potential departure of Lukaku from Merseyside has drawn mixed reactions from the fans, but should replicate the form that saw him score 26 goals for Everton last term, they will all be eating out of the palm of his hand.
He’s United bound you can say.
