Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista is set to complete a move back to Spain with Valencia in the next coming days, according to reports.
The centre-back joined Arsenal in January 2015 from La Liga club Villarreal in a deal worth €15 million but could not hold down a regular place in the Gunners team as he failed to adapt to the rigours and demands of the Premier League.
Arsenal presently have enough options in the defence and the 26-year-old has Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi as well as Rob Holding ahead of him in the pecking order and doesn’t seem to be part of Arsene Wenger plans for the new season.
Spanish publication Plaza Desportiva now report that the Brazilian is set to quit the Emirates Stadium and reunite with Marcelino García Toral at Valencia. The pair worked together at Villarreal.
The reports also say Arsenal and Valencia have been locked in discussions over a deal for the defender, with the London club demanding for £10 million.
And now there’s a photo making the rounds that the player has arrived Spain to seal a deal.

And the deal is still expected to push through though Paulista is still recovering from a knee injury he sustained against Everton in Arsenal final Premier League game last season.
Arsenal currently have an overcrowded squad with 33 players struggling for 11 positions and Arsene Wenger is looking to trim the squad with Kierian Gibbs, Mathieu Debuchy, Carl Jenkinson, Calum Chambers and Lucas Perez all expected to leave this summer.
