Cesc Fabregas’ imminent Arsenal exit has been confirmed by Goal.
Chelsea beat Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup and ahead of the game, reports have indicated that the aforementioned Spanish playmaker has decided to call time on his spell with the Blues.
Sarri gave him the nod in the game and also honoured him with the Captain armband. He stepped to take a penalty for the Blues in what should have been his exit-goal for Chelsea but Luke Steele saved the spot-kick.
The pass master will be out of contract at the end of the season and he has agreed terms to join AS Monaco, according to Sky Sports.
Sarri has laid bare his desire to keep Fabregas within his fold but Fabregas’ decision to quit the club stems from his inability to play regularly for the Blues.
Fabregas was substituted in the second half, and his gesture suggested his had bade farewell to fans, as confirmed by Goal via their Twitter.
