Reports linking Antonio Rudiger to Man United has dragged on for a long time but the fans of Chelsea can now heave a sigh of relief.
Germany international Antonio Rudiger has put pen to paper on a long term Chelsea deal, this is according to reports.
The German star has been a subject of heavy transfer speculation to Chelsea since the Blues registered their interest in him but his participation at the confederations Cup had stalled the Blues’ move. He has agreed a five-year deal with Chelsea and the fee is believed to be around £34.2million.
Chelsea had lost out on the signing of Romelu Lukaku to Man United last week and it was reported that Antonio Conte’s frustration over Chelsea’s transfer inactivities may see him call time at Stamford Bridge.
Rudiger’s arrival means he’s second to Willy Cabellero, who joined on a free transfer from Man City as new Chelsea recruits. Conte has been tipped to reinforce his backline with the signing of a quality player in the stead of Antonio Rudiger.
Rudiger, is a versatile defender that can play at the heart of defence or in the role of a right back. His impressive show-offs for the Giallorossi was noted as a factor for ending the season runners up to Juventus in the Scudetto chase.
Skysports had reported that he was due for medical today but he has completed a Chelsea deal.
