The January transfer window is less than a fortnight from being opened but the media wave is already awash with series of transfer stories, true and untrue.

Chelsea transfer prime target Mauro Icardi has thrown fans of the London club into a frenzy after he posted a picture of himself heading to London.

The Argentina forward earned for himself the interest of several top European clubs but Chelsea have consistently retained their interest in the striker.

The 25-year-old star has been in blistering form for Inter Milan for some time now. Last season, he scored 29 League goals in 34 games and this term, he has already bagged nine goals in 13 games, making him one of the most potent strikers in Europe.

He posted a picture of him on Instagram and captioned it “On my way to London  #MI9#nike @nike #MI9✔️

He post suggested he was on sponsorship trip but the Blues’ fans have refused to allow that sink.

The Blues have done well for themselves this season but they do not have a quality striker. Reports have suggested that The West London club will be looking to sign a striker in January or the summer, with Alvaro Morata up for sale.
