The Seria Champions Juventus have completed the signing of Poland international and Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny on a permanent deal, according to reports.
Szczesny returned to Arsenal after spending two years on loan with Seria A giants Roma. His heroics in-between the sticks did not go unnoticed by the Old Lady of Turin – dubbed as one of the best goalkeeper of the Seria A last campaign, the Scudetto holders identified the 26-year old as perfect replacement for Buffon.
Buffon is coming close to resignation after a glorious career and he has endorsed Szczesny as the heir to his throne. Szczesny completed medicals for Juventus on Tuesday in Turin after Arsenal and Juventus agreed a £10million deal for the player’s switch.
The shot-stopper is an academy graduate of Arsenal. He joined the Gunner from Legia in 2006 and had over 180 appearances to his name for Arsenal. His untimely departure from Arsenal is one that is sad.
Szczesny was first choice for Arsenal in the 2014/2015 season until he fell behind David Ospina in the selection pecking order following a smoking incident at the Club. The signing of Petr Cech to Arsenal in the summer of 2015 saw him fell further down the selection pecking order of Wenger until he was sent on a season-long loan move to Roma.
He was first choice for Roma in the first season and he was offered on another spell with the Club last season, where he impressed and helped the Club finished second place in the Seria A.
