Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp joined Liverpool on the backdrop of two Bundesliga titles and so, his move to Anfield stirred hope that he is capable of returning Liverpool to the days of winning the League.
Klopp has played down the possibility of Philippe Coutinho’s departure to from club this summer, this is according to reports.
Coutinho has been on the transfer of Barcelona and speculation increased over his departure after the Blaugrana accepted Paris Saint Germain’s bid for Neymar. The Catalan side had seen a £72million bid rebuffed by the Reds but they may return with a more tempting offer.
Barcelona have earmarked Coutinho to replace the out-gone Neymar Jr but Klopp does not want to lose the midfield schemer.
Klopp was quizzed about the future of Coutinho after the sale of Neymar to PSG and he said:
“Everybody thought ‘he’s going, he’s going, he’s going’ but so far nobody is going.
“If we stay together like this there will be a few hard decisions because they can’t start all together. Then we have to see how this works.”
Liverpool have built their team around Philippe Coutinho and if Liverpool are going to push for the Premier League title, they may have to keep the Brazilian against all the odds.
Would the Reds be able to resist a big money move? Barcelona never wanted to let Neymar Leave but given the amount paid for him, they had no choice than to accede to the demand of the moment.
